ยง 1631-1.1 General

(a) Fire prevention must be a continuing concern of all authority personnel. This concern must also be communicated to the tenants as most project fires occur in apartments and cause considerable loss to tenants concerned. All tenants should be made constantly aware that in event of fire:

(1) Get everybody out.

(2) Close the door.

(3) Give the alarm.

(b) Fires are generally caused by failure to eliminate the electrical or nonelectrical hazards listed below. No effort should be spared in the elimination of such hazards.

(c) Prompt reporting of fires is an important aspect of fire prevention. Written reports of all fires must be forwarded to the Bureau of Management and the insurance carrier as soon as possible. In addition, telephonic report should be made immediately to the division and the insurance carrier of any fire resulting in death, serious injury, or property damage in excess of $ 5,000. If such fire occurs during division's business hours, report to Bureau of Management directly. If fire occurs after business hours, reports shall be made in accordance with Bureau of Management's current listing of person(s) to be called in event of emergency during such hours.
